Strip
down to
skin and bone
Brittle joints snap
Fingers creak and bend
Humerus, radius
ulna; extend, reach, grab, pull,
encircle. Phalanges flexing.
Tendons pull taut under paper skin
Heart pulpatating behind sternum
Lungs expand; contract underneath ribcage
Scapula and clavicle tense to draw towards
Cervical vertebrae dip; cranium bows
To nestle between neck and shoulder
Tense arms ease out, loop loosely around
fragile backbones, ribcages, chests
Hands hold tight
Fingers stroke, clicking down an old, bone-dry spine
Hammering heart
slows; lungs exhale
softly. Just breathe
in and
out
Haha, I should know, I feel the same way about my own writing.
Good luck and keeping putting out the good work LensReflex!
To put it simply; it's brilliant. I get it and it's brilliant.
I'm usually very self-conscious about my writing, your comment virtually made my day
